About Us

Welcome to the Oily Bulldog!

My name is Chris Huppe.
I don’t have a long, dramatic story to tell you about how essential oils brought me back from the dead or cured me from some horrific disease. I’m just a regular small town lady who finds joy in the simple things: rustic furniture, home made soup and English bulldogs. Originally, I’m a registered nurse. I’ve seen the healthcare system’s attempts to deal with chronic illness and debilitating disease. Some of it is good; but a lot of it is making us so much sicker.

So, I became a holistic nurse.  I specialize in addressing the influences that effect the mind, body and spirit. I believe in working with the body; not on it. My use of essential oils is therapeutic: application from a medicinal perspective.  I use essential oils instead of synthetic chemicals to revitalize every wonderful working system and organ you have. So that’s what I have to offer…wholesome choices for you and your amazing body.  I can help you swap out synthetic, harmful, health-removing chemicals from you everyday lifestyle (pharmaceuticals, cleaners, personal care products and food additives) for pure, positive, health-promoting substances that our bodies can efficantly recognize.

Love your perfect body. Move with purpose. And enjoy the journey.
With a bachelor degree in education Chris began her career as a special education teacher. Having a keen interest in health, she quickly moved into healthcare, first as a paramedic and then obtaining her Registered Nursing license.  Chris dovetailed both fields as the Director of EMS for the Middlesex Health System for many years. She attained a Masters degree in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and went on to represent specialized defibrillator and laser technology to physicians.  A love of animals saw Chris starting The Horse’s Foot, a holistic Applied Equine Podiatry practice, which continues today.  With a passion for health and empowering others Chris turned her nursing attention toward more holistic approaches with training in applied kinesiology, kinesiology taping, Reiki and massage.  She is currently putting the finishing touches on the completion of the Holistic Nursing certification program at the University of Connecticut.  Chris expects to sit for the national board examination in 2019 and is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association.
